Skip or grab? How to choose

Both take your waste away. Which one saves you money depends on what the waste is, how much there is, and where it is.

Choose a skip when…

Your waste is mixed — plasterboard offcuts, timber, packaging, rubble and household bits all together. A skip sits on your drive for as long as you need, and you fill it at your own pace. Mini to 14-yard skips cover most home projects.

Choose a grab when…

You have a big pile of one thing — clean hardcore or inert soil. Our grab wagon lifts up to 16 tonnes straight off the ground, so nobody fills anything by hand. It’s one visit, there’s no skip to sit on the road, and no permit is needed.

The rule of thumb

Mixed waste goes in a skip. Clean, heavy, loose material goes in a grab. If you’re unsure, send us a photo and we’ll tell you which is cheaper.
