Do I need a permit for my skip?

If the skip can go on your own drive, no. If it has to go on the road or pavement, yes — and we can sort it for you.

On your property

A skip on your own driveway or land doesn’t need a permit. Make sure the ground is firm and there’s clear access for our skip truck.

On the road

The council needs to issue a permit before a skip goes on a public highway. Permits usually take a few working days, and the skip needs lights and cones at night.

How we help

Tick ‘on the road’ when you book and we apply for the permit for you. We’ll confirm the date once the council approves it.
